Join us for a Beginning Longarm Rental class!
We hold these classes monthly and by request at both Elkhorn and Appleton locations.
Please call us to book your class. 262-723-6775 or email info@QuiltingConnection.com
Half Day Class
The Quilting Connection Team will show you the steps on how we prepare your projects to load on our longarm frames.
Included with your class is 132" Rental Quick Zip set ($31.99 value) this zipper set will save you so much time when loading on to our frame.
You get to do all the pinning ahead and when you are ready to quilt simply attach your zipper set to our zipper on our frame and start loading!
You will need to bring your project to class, but we will not be quilting on your project during class.
The first time you use our longarm machine will be on our practice fabric. During class, we will show you the 3 ways you can rent our longarm. You will learn how to free-motion quilt, follow a paper pantograph, and learn the computerized Pro-Stitcher.
Once you try all 3 ways of longarm quilting, you can decide how you are going to rent to finish your quilts.
You will also learn how to attach your project to your zipper set so you are all ready to come back and sew your project together.
Don't forget to bring your binding and we can help you attach it to your project after quilting.
You will be all ready to flip and sew at home!
Rental fees after class:
If you are physically moving the machine with free-motion quilting or following paper pantographs you will pay $25 per hour
If the computerized Pro-Stitcher is physically moving the machine you will pay $35 per hour
The average Queen size quilt takes about 4-6 hours and really depends on the pattern you pick. Some patterns are close together and will take longer than others.
You will also have a bobbin charge of $2.50 per bobbin that will cover your top and bottom thread during the rentals.
Taking this Rental Class is learning how to operate the Longarm safely and accurately. You will be actively participating in each rental while you work towards independence.

Longarm Rental Class
I had never operated a longarm before and wanted to see if it was something I would like. Angie was an EXCELLENT teacher. She gave the background on the company, along with all the ins and outs of operating the long the arm. I got to test out all the equipment and finally decided on a pattern to use on my next quilt. I can't wait to stitch my next quilt and experience the process from beginning to end! I highly recommend trying this out to see if it is something you want to add to your quilting skills!
