Elkhorn Demo Day

Come join us in Elkhorn on Monday August 21st anytime between 11am and 4pm. We will be demonstrating the new Laurastar steam generator systems. We are so excited to bring these irons into our stores!

The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show

Both Elkhorn and Appleton locations will be closed during this show!

I know many of you are familiar with this huge annual quilting event, but for those of you who aren’t, please consider joining the fun!

The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show is held in Madison at the Alliant Energy Center and runs from Thursday, September 7th through Saturday, September 9th. Doors open at 9 AM each day, then close at 6 PM on Thursday & Friday and 5 PM on Saturday.

This statewide show offers a quilt show/exhibits, lectures, classes, and a huge vendor mall.

We’ll be vending at the show again this year. You can find us on the show map by looking for booths 233-234 & 303-304. The Quilting Connection will be taking up that block of four spaces!

We’ll be displaying all of the Handi Quilter machines and would love to have you test drive the machine of your dreams! We’ll also be demonstrating our Quick Zip™ System and all sorts of Handi Quilter products. If you have ANY Handi Quilter/Quilting Connection questions, this will be an excellent time to get them answered!

Also, many of you may remember meeting Adam Sew Fun at one of our previous Handi Quilter Educator training events. For those of you who haven’t, Adam is a passionate, talented, fun-loving Handi Quilter educator. He travels the country teaching quilters what they can do with their longarm machines, especially Handi Quilter’s Pro-Stitcher® system. AND he will be working the quilt show booth with us this year!

For more details on The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show, see the Shows/Events page of our website. And please stop by and say hi while you’re visiting the show!

Customer Appreciation Day

For those of you in the Appleton area, mark Friday, September 22nd on your calendar!

Each year we partner with our neighbor, Going To Pieces, to host a BBQ party as a thank you for your continued support!

Meals will be served in Going To Pieces’ classroom.

Stop by for a fun time! Just maybe we’ll have a few specials going on that day … and just maybe we’ll have something new for all of you to see?!

Hands-on Handi Quilter Training Event

Finally, we have a really special training opportunity for you!

This year, our Handi Quilter training event features HQ Educator Waynna Kershner. She began her quilting journey as many of us did … taking that first quilting class, realizing she wanted to do her own quilting, purchasing her first longarm machine (the Handi Quilter Simply Sixteen), and finally seeing a demo (and then purchasing) Handi-Quilter’s Pro-Stitcher®.

Fast forward to the present. Waynna has been quilting professionally since 2011. She has a passion for teaching quilters and helping them with their quilting projects and aspirations. She enjoys working with machine quilters of all skill levels, but especially loves working with new and current Pro-Stitcher owners. She also enjoys working with the Pro-Stitcher Designer software to digitize her own designs.

We are fortunate to have this dedicated, experienced instructor in Elkhorn on September 25th and 26th and in Appleton on September 28th and 29th. Waynna will be teaching two one-day classes in each location.

On Monday, September 25th (Elkhorn) and Friday, September 29th (Appleton), she will be offering an All Free-Motion event. This full-day class will be a combination of Happy Feet, Background Basics, Not Your Average Orange Peel and Applique for the Longarm.

This is a hands-on class. You will be using our Handi Quilter longarms. Class size is limited. There will be a maximum of two people per machine so each of you get plenty of practice time.

On Tuesday, September 26th (Elkhorn) and Thursday, September 28th (Appleton), Waynna will be teaching how to use Pro-Stitcher Designer. This full-featured Handi Quilter design software allows you to create paper or digitized quilting motifs and patterns.

This is also a hands-on class. You will be using your personal laptop to create designs while learning the features of Pro-Stitcher Designer.

For more details on these premier events, see the Classes page of our website.

Well, that makes for a busy September! I hope to see you at one or more of our events!

Oh, and one quick reminder!

If you are interested in purchasing a Handi Quilter Moxie longarm, prices increase as of September 1st!

We MUST receive your order by August 31st to lock in our current pricing!
