Have you ever wanted a quilted jacket but didn’t know where to start?
The Quilting Connection, along with Sara Stoltman from Madison, are offering a class to have you make a stylish waist/high hip length reversable lady’s jacket.
This is not the boxy ones of the past. The front can be open OR have a reversable jacket zipper.
All you have to do is quilt the required amount of fabric prior to coming to class, bring the notions/supplies listed below, and Sara will help you do the rest.
If you do not have a long arm machine, contact us for details on rental time of our longarms before class.
What to expect during class
Power-point lecture on: the agenda for the day, pattern piece fitting, layout, cutting, and assembly.
Dissemination of one set of pattern pieces per attendee in the jacket size requested at the time of registration.
Personalized instruction throughout the day. Binding is the last step of the jacket and can be done by hand or on your domestic machine.
The goal is that everyone leaves with a completed jacket!
What to bring to class
Your quilted fabric, binding fabric, sewing machine, fabric and snipping scissors, matching thread, pins, hand-sewing needles, and rotary cutter.
For those who want a front zipper: bring a separating zipper the length of your desired jacket.
The zipper can be a #5 molded plastic reversable jacket zipper OR a #5 molded plastic separating jacket zipper (jacket will not be reversable)
OR a #5 molded plastic two-way jacket zipper that opens from the top and bottom (jacket will not be reversable).

Sizes
XS: Bust 32-36, Hip 34-35, Finished quilted fabric for class - 2 yards of 42” wide fabric
S: Bust 34-36, Hip 36-37, Finished quilted fabric for class - 2 yards of 42” wide fabric
M: Bust: 36-38, Hip 38-39, Finished quilted fabric for class - 3 ½ yards of 42” wide fabric
L: Bust: 38-40, Hip 41-42, Finished quilted fabric for class - 3 2/3 yards of 42” wide fabric
XL: Bust: 41-44, Hip 43-45, Finished quilted fabric for class – 4 yards of 42” wide fabric
Sizes can be tailored, within reason. If you want a longer jacket, sizes M-XL do not need extra fabric. Size XS and small will need and additional 1/3 yard of fabric.
